Between the 29th and 31st of October, the women from Marseille took part in a feminist photography workshop guided by Diane Hymans. This activity took place as part of J’Crains Dégun, a Marseille cultural event that marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Gender Minorities every November.
Equipped with disposable cameras, placed like prostheses on their bodies (bras, knee pads, headbands, etc.), the group explored downtown spaces where women’s place is challenged. With the support of Marielle Agboton, a tour guide from the Bureau des Guides, walking photography became a tool for reappropriation of public space.
On the premises of the Solidarité Femmes 13 association, the group selected the photos that will be part of the exhibition ‘En corps en ville – خمسة في عينيك‘ (Body in the city – Five in your eyes) at the town hall in Marseille’s 1st and 7th arrondissements.
