It was the first meeting of the year in Antwerp, when we gathered to decide on the focus and activities for the coming year. Inspired after watching the ‘Behind the Scenes’ video of our creative residence in November 2024, Petra said: ‘We should record our songs’!
It didn’t take much from there for us to start brainstorming about fundraising, choosing songs and dreaming up new lyrics for our upcoming performance in November 2025.
With a go-getter attitude, and the support of the team from Madam Fortuna‘s, we are pleased to annouce that the 2026WOMEN album is coming! Next June, the musicians and singers will come together to record the first two songs: Good Vibes (Simawe), which was the theme song for our 2024 performance; and ‘Her Body’, a composition based on one of the collective poems we wrote in a creative writing workshop. This a capella song, led by the talented Deborah, talks about our right to self-determination and breaking with gender stereotypes. Curious? Check out the original poem here.
